• I began studying midwifery in the summer 2003.  I felt amazingly inspired learning about homebirth and the role of the midwife.  I knew I had found my calling in life.  I continued my studies locally, attending classes in advanced midwifery, herbalism, homeopathy and Reiki.  In 2004 I did a short apprenticeship in the Midwest at a lovely free-standing birth center.  Over the next year I continued self studying and attended conferences pertaining to midwifery care.  In the fall of 2006 I journeyed to El Paso, Texas to attend the midwifery school, Maternidad la Luz.  This school is unique as it combines in-class training with real-life clinical experience.  I trained at the birth center/school for seven months.  While there, I was able to greatly expand my midwifery skills and knowledge.  I then returned to California to rejoin my family and complete another homebirth apprenticeship.  I also became pregnant with my first child.  In 2008 I gave birth to my son Martin, in the peace of my own home.  My own homebirth experience has filled me with immense admiration for the natural birthing process.  I feel blessed to be in a profession where I’m able to witness true empowerment and fruition of the family.  I’m a Certified Professional Midwife, CPM, and also a California Licensed Midwife, LM. I’m also, IV, CPR and neonatal resuscitation certified.  It would be an honor to work with you prenatally and to attend to you and your family during your labor, birth and postpartum.
